Testimonal from Ross

by Markos on January 22, 2012

Hi Peter,

As I am now nearly two months into my six month adventure I thought I would say hello and thank you for all your help.

The whole service was fantastic. I can’t imagine how I would have done it on my own. You made it so easy. Staying the first night in your sleep out was definitely worth doing.

My bike is still going great. Perfect for the job. It handles sealed and gravel roads perfectly and is so comfortable. Its a real pleasure to ride. I have called her Fern. Being a F650 and being a Kiwi I thought it was only right.

Many thanks.

Motorcycle holiday in New Zealand

by Peter on November 30, 2010

Well it’s coming into summer in New Zealand now and we’ve noticed a bit of an increase in inquiries through our website.Quite a few folk wanting to come out to NZ and take a decent look around this beautiful country of ours.

We have recently had a three week trip on two BMW F650s round both islands, covering just over 6,000kms each! Not bad really, especially as in the South there was some really heavy rain. (Six inches in one day in the Sounds!) But all went well and the two intrepid travellers, Fred and Frances from Kent in the UK, got back safely and seemed to enjoy their trip. Arrived back in the UK to minus 1 degree celcius and 3 inches of snow, and still snowing!! Now I know why I live here.. So our first trip done without a major hitch, we feel alot better now! Bikes having a major service, tryes, brakes, engine service and check over. Other bikes that are popular are the Honda Transalp, later BMW 650GS, vStrom 650 (but very hard to get a good one at a sensible price) and the KLR650.

We also have a few more people interested in coming out, so hopefully we’ll build up a nice database of trips round NZ and publish some photos of who did what and where. Watch this space.

Photos of New Zealand by Motorcycle

by Peter on December 13, 2009

Mahurangi West Park, 12.1.04 (1)Here we’ve added some photos to see what you’re missing by not being here!  And of course, you can go anywhere on your Buy Back bike as you own it and can do what you like with it.  No hire or rental restrictions, go see the REAL New Zealand.  And remember, here in New Zealand, most beaches are treated as public highways, so you can ride on them.  But of course, normal road rules apply, so no drinking or speeding, but how cool is that? ACC have confirmed motorcycle levies.

by Markos on December 10, 2009

Confirming the new levies today, Dr Smith said registration rates for motorcycles would range from $327.70 to $426.92, compared with rates of between $511.43 and $745.77 under rates proposed by ACC. But that is still an increase of between $75 and $174 for the owners of petrol powered motorcycles.

Welcome to Motorcycle Buy Back – New Zealand

by Markos on November 25, 2009

After years in the motorcycle business, in retail and also including bike tours in New Zealand, we decided to start a specialised motorcycle buy back option as we were asked on numerous occasions if there were options to do buy backs, instead of just rental.  No one was offering a decent and affordable motorcycle buy back option so we decided to start MotorcycleBuyback.com

This web site will show case some of the amazing routes that you can do on your own bike as well as show you any bikes we have in stock and a whole lot more. For now we have some information about the advantages of going with a buy back, how it works and what it costs.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

All the best and we look forward to hearing from you .

Peter & Mark
